John Hannah Confirms a Fan-Favorite Mummy Character Is Returning for ‘The Mummy 4’

O’Connor as the treacherous treasure hunter Beni Gabor, both characters who met dramatic ends in the original trilogy. Beni’s apparent death, trapped inside an ancient tomb and devoured by scarab beetles, seemed just as final as Imhotep’s, yet the franchise has always leaned heavily on themes of resurrection to bring characters back from the brink.
That pattern gives Vosloo’s return a certain narrative logic, since Imhotep himself was already resurrected once before in ‘The Mummy Returns’ after dying at the end of the original 1999 film.
