After 12 very successful seasons aboard Two and a Half Men, Jon Cryer is set to embrace his masculinity for DC Comics and Warner Bros. A recently released photo of Cryer shows the actor sporting a bald head and some facial hair. He looks menacing as he peers through what looks to be a prison cell.

Cryer, has been cast as Superman’s greatest foe Lex Luthor and is preparing to make his debut on CW’s Supergirl. While Cryer looks great, it’s hard not to notice that he does not have Lex’s traditional look.

For a time in comic, Luthor did have a small beard. Like most strange happenings in comics, this occurred during the 1990’s when practically anything could happen. The beard was a product of Lex running around in a cloned body disguised as his own son.

Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor

Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor is a far departure from the fun-loving and gullible Alan Harper. This should come to you as no surprise. Cryer is widely known for his ability to play a gluttony of characters. Just look at his acting credits.

  • Hot Shots
  • Pretty In Pink
  • Superman IV

Luthor is scheduled to make his debut in the Supergirl episode entitled, “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” The hotly anticipated episode sees Luthor reach out to Lena in an effort to get her on board with one of his plans.

But that’s not all.

Rumours are circling that Luthor also looks to create an alliance between Cryer’s Luthor and Sam Witwer’s Agent Liberty. Either way, it doesn’t matter. Lex Luthor is a force in DC and seeing him come to life one more time can only bring ratings.

“O Brother, Where Art Thou” is set to air March 17, 2019.

Cheers,

Joel
