Kate Beckinsale has drawn attention online after revealing she was dropped by her longtime agent, allegedly for supporting a ceasefire in Gaza. The 52-year-old actress shared her thoughts in a now-deleted Instagram comment under a post by Mark Ruffalo.

Beckinsale suggested that Hollywood treats men and women differently, questioning why she faced consequences while male colleagues, including Ruffalo, did not.

In her captured comments, she pointed out that her agent ended a twelve-year professional relationship with a short two-sentence message, writing, “I guess having a p***s in Hollywood really counts for a lot because you’ve not been fired by the same agent that I had.”

The actress also noted that she had tried reaching out to Ruffalo privately months ago to discuss the situation, but he never responded. She clarified that she does not blame him personally, but she wanted to highlight a larger pattern of gender-based privilege in the industry. “I DM’d you about this months ago but you ignored me,” she wrote.

This professional setback came at a difficult time for Beckinsale personally. She has been dealing with the deaths of her stepfather, Roy Battersby, in 2024, and her mother, Judy Loe, in July 2025. Beckinsale explained that she had been caring for both parents during their illnesses while also managing her own health challenges.

“I was dealing with the fact that on top of my mother having been told she had six weeks to live with brain cancer… the day before my stepfather had had a catastrophic stroke,” she said. Despite these challenges, Beckinsale continues to work on independent projects and remains active on social media.

She has advocated for mental health awareness and greater transparency around workplace ethics. Fans continue to hope for a return to her famous role as Selene in the Underworld franchise, but no official announcements regarding a sixth film have been made.

Meanwhile, Mark Ruffalo is keeping busy with several upcoming projects. He is set to reprise his role as Bruce Banner in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and will also star in the crime thriller Crime 101 alongside Chris Hemsworth.

As for Beckinsale’s claims about her agency dispute, representatives for the parties involved have not issued a public response. Her revelation has sparked conversation about fairness, gender dynamics, and professional consequences in Hollywood, keeping her story at the center of industry discussions.
