Kate Hudson is enjoying a busy awards season as she gears up for the 2026 Academy Awards. On Friday, March 13, she was honored with the Motion Picture Showperson of the Year award at the ICG Publicists Awards, which took place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

At the ceremony, Hudson reflected on the hard work that goes into bringing a film to audiences. “Making movies is an extraordinary process; it doesn’t end when we wrap,” she told the crowd.

She also highlighted the role of publicity in a movie’s success, saying, “We are also tasked with bringing that magic to audiences, and publicity is a huge part of that. I’m the showperson, and you’re the ship.”

The award was presented by Leslie Odom Jr., who worked with Hudson in the 2021 musical Music. Other honorees included Noah Wyle, who won Television Showperson of the Year, and Jimmy Kimmel, who received the President’s Award.

Hudson wore a stunning couture gown by Georges Chakra for the evening. Her recognition comes just days before the Oscars, where she is nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Song Sung Blue.

In the movie, she plays Claire Sardina, part of a Neil Diamond tribute act alongside Hugh Jackman. The film, released at Christmas 2025, explores the couple’s struggles with fame, poverty, and addiction and is now available to stream on Peacock.

Hudson has kept a busy schedule throughout the year. Earlier this month at the Actor Awards, she made headlines when she arrived with her brother, Oliver Hudson, after her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, fell ill. Oliver joked about pulling an 18-year-old tuxedo out of his closet for the event, and the siblings shared a playful moment on the red carpet.

Alongside her acting career, Hudson continues to be a part of the lifestyle brand Fabletics. She also stars in the Netflix comedy series Running Point, which has been renewed for a second season.

Fans are already speculating about what roles she might take on next as she moves into more dramatic and challenging projects. With her Oscar nomination, recent awards recognition, and growing entrepreneurial success, Hudson’s career remains one of the most talked-about in Hollywood.

Whether she wins the Best Actress award this weekend or continues building on her momentum, she is showing that she can balance film, fashion, and business while remaining a major presence in the entertainment industry.
