Kevin Feige Reveals He and Amy Pascal Are Already Plotting ‘Spider-Man’s’ Next Four Movies

Marvel and Sony have built one of the most successful creative partnerships in modern blockbuster filmmaking, turning Tom Holland’s Spider-Man into a franchise that keeps finding new ways to reinvent itself. With ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ just days away from release, both studios have made clear this particular chapter is far from the end of the road.

That ongoing collaboration has been a defining feature of the character’s cinematic journey since Feige and Pascal first began working together on the character years ago. Now, with a new film about to hit theaters, both producers appear to already be looking well beyond it.

Kevin Feige revealed that he and Amy Pascal have had in-depth discussions about what the next two, three, four, and five Spider-Man movies might be about. Speaking about the franchise’s future, Feige explained that the pair have been thinking and discussing more Spider-Man adventures, regardless of agreements or contracts currently in place.

That level of forward planning tracks with comments Pascal has made in separate interviews about just how much creative territory remains available for the character. Speaking with SFX Magazine, Pascal explained that working with Marvel and the MCU on Spider-Man has opened up a wealth of opportunity given how extensively the character interacts with other Marvel figures in the comics, though she stopped short of confirming any specific future film count.

Pascal has been notably careful not to overpromise despite the ongoing enthusiasm from both studios. She noted that she never wants to be presumptuous about committing to a trilogy or any specific number of upcoming films, even as speculation continues to build around what comes after ‘Brand New Day.’

That caution has not stopped fans and industry watchers from speculating heavily about the character’s trajectory. Rumors have persisted that ‘Brand New Day’ could kick off an entirely new trilogy for Holland’s Peter Parker, following the character’s dramatic reset at the end of ‘No Way Home.’

The film itself picks up four years after that reset, following Peter as he fights crime anonymously in a city that no longer remembers him. With Bruce Banner’s Hulk, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and a lineup of classic villains all factoring into the story, ‘Brand New Day’ already represents one of the most ambitious entries in Holland’s run as the character.

This is not the first time Feige has spoken publicly about the franchise’s long-term planning. Following ‘No Way Home’s’ release, he told the New York Times that he, Pascal, Disney and Sony were actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, specifically framing those comments as reassurance for fans worried about another lengthy gap between installments.

Given how successful that collaborative approach has been for the franchise so far, this latest confirmation that discussions are already underway for multiple future films suggests Marvel and Sony have no intention of slowing down Spider-Man’s cinematic momentum anytime soon. With ‘Brand New Day’ set to swing into theaters July 31, fans now have even more reason to wonder just how far this particular creative partnership might ultimately stretch.
