Khloe Kardashian Reveals Struggles Living With a Chronic Condition
Khloe Kardashian is being honest about why she has stayed single for so long. On a recent episode of her podcast, Khloe In Wonder Land, the reality star spoke openly about living with sarmasophobia, which is a fear of starting romantic relationships.
During the episode, Khloe sat down with her sister, Kim Kardashian, for a personal conversation. She explained that dating again feels overwhelming and scary to her. Khloe said she has built emotional walls to protect herself and admitted that the idea of opening up to someone new makes her anxious.
Khloe shared that this fear likely comes from her past relationships. She went through very public and painful breakups with her former husband, Lamar Odom, and later with Tristan Thompson, the father of her two children. She said those experiences left a lasting impact on her trust and emotions.
While talking to Kim, Khloe admitted that being alone now feels safe. She said she does not want to feel the emotional pain she felt before and would rather stay single than risk going through that again. She described the thought of dating as “terrifying” and said she is not ready to put herself in a vulnerable position.
At the same time, Khloe acknowledged that she knows she cannot avoid relationships forever. She asked Kim if her fear even made sense to other people. Kim responded by sharing her own update, revealing that she is also not dating right now. Kim explained that she is fully focused on her law studies and simply does not have the time or energy for a relationship.
Khloe has spoken before about how long it has been since she dated. Late last year, she revealed that she had not been intimate with anyone in more than three years. Her last serious relationship was with Tristan Thompson. The two share a seven-year-old daughter, True, and a three-year-old son, Tatum. Khloe has said many times that co-parenting and her kids come before everything else.
To help explain sarmasophobia, Beverly Hills psychologist Dr. Bruce Levine spoke about the condition. He explained that sarmasophobia, which means fear of romantic intimacy, is common after repeated heartbreak. He said many people protect themselves by focusing on work or children to avoid being hurt again.
Dr. Levine added that healing often takes time. He suggested that when someone feels ready, small steps like casual coffee dates or therapy could help reduce the fear and rebuild trust.
For now, Khloe is putting her energy into work. Her podcast, Khloe In Wonder Land, continues to grow and has become a regular listen for fans. She talks about everything from family topics to deeper personal issues. She is also busy with her business projects and producing new content.
Khloe recently said acting is not something she wants to focus on right now. Instead, she is working behind the scenes as an executive producer on a new Hulu reality series called Calabasas Behind the Gates.
Kim Kardashian is also entering a new chapter. She recently completed her law office study program after six years and is now eligible to take the California bar exam.
