Laz Alonso Teases His Wild ‘The Boys’ Spinoff Pitch
The ending of The Boys is still being discussed, especially because of what happens to Mother’s Milk.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, actor Laz Alonso spoke about the finale, his character’s journey, and a possible spinoff idea centered around him. The interview also included comments about creator Eric Kripke and how the story for MM was planned over several seasons.
At the end of the series, Mother’s Milk survives while many other characters face major losses. He returns home to his wife and daughter, but his story does not completely stay separate from the chaos of the supe world. One of the biggest surprises is that Ryan, the son of Homelander and Becca, leaves with him. This moment hints that MM may still have a larger role to play even after the main story ends.
Laz Alonso explained that this decision connects directly to the theme of breaking cycles of violence and trauma. He said the idea was always part of the character’s journey. In the interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said, “It was always Eric Kripke’s intention to make Mother’s Milk story an arc about breaking generational cycles and curses.” He added that Ryan’s presence in MM’s life is not random, but deeply connected to his past.
Alonso also explained that Ryan is not just another child character in the story. He pointed out that Ryan is tied to MM’s personal history in a painful way, since Ryan is connected to Soldier Boy, the man responsible for destroying MM’s family line. He said that this connection gives meaning to why MM chooses to protect him instead of walking away.
This emotional ending is what led Alonso to think about where the story could go next. He shared that MM’s journey does not feel completely finished, even though the main series has ended. In the interview, he spoke openly about a possible spinoff idea focused on Mother’s Milk and Ryan continuing together.
He explained it in a simple way, suggesting that MM stepping into a protective role could naturally extend into a new story. He did not confirm anything official, but he made it clear he is interested in the idea. He said, “Hey, listen, I’m always pitching. So, Amazon, if you’re listening; Kripke, if you’re listening.” While he made it sound playful, the idea itself is something he clearly thinks about seriously.
The concept he imagines is not just about action or fighting supes. Instead, it is more about MM guiding Ryan and trying to stop the same cycle of violence that shaped his own life. Alonso compared it to earlier mentor relationships in the series, where experienced fighters train younger ones to survive in a dangerous world.

He also suggested that this kind of story could fit naturally into the wider universe of The Boys, especially as new projects like Vought Rising continue to expand the timeline. He even mentioned that parts of MM’s family history could one day connect more directly to the larger Vought storyline.
Even though there is no official confirmation of a spinoff, Alonso’s comments show that he sees potential in continuing MM’s journey. For him, the character is not just finished after the finale. Instead, there is still room to explore what it means for a man trying to protect a child tied so closely to his past.
