Leaked ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Footage Gives the World Its First Look at Cyclops and Beast in the MCU
Raw VFX footage from ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has surfaced online and spread rapidly across social media, giving fans what Marvel Hype Insider on X is describing as the first confirmed look at both Cyclops and Beast within the main MCU conflict.
The clip, watermarked with “DO NOT DUPLICATE” and running just a few seconds, has triggered genuine delirium online as it appears to show the X-Men fully integrated into the film’s sprawling crossover battle, with Marvel’s subsequent DMCA activity strongly suggesting the footage is authentic.
A clearer version of the footage that has since been circulating prompted eagle-eyed fans to claim Cyclops can be seen mouthing what appears to be his classic rallying line “To me, my X-Men,” a moment that has sent the internet into overdrive if confirmed. Other figures visible in the ensemble melee include Nightcrawler, Mystique, and Mister Fantastic.
An important caveat is that the footage clearly contains unfinished visual effects, which is consistent with a film still months from theatrical release. That means anything visible is a work in progress rather than the polished final cut audiences will see in December.
The film stars an enormous cast including James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, among many others. Both films in the two-part saga are directed by the Russo brothers, returning to the MCU after ‘Avengers: Endgame.’
There are also reports that the Russo brothers trimmed certain ideas during reshoots, including how the Avengers-versus-New Avengers confrontation plays out, which serves as a reminder that what appears in any leak represents the film as it stood at a particular point in production rather than its definitive form.
For a film whose only official trailer remains locked behind a CinemaCon exclusive from earlier this year, the leak has done exactly what Marvel’s legal response confirms it was never meant to do: give the world a genuine first glimpse at what the collision of the X-Men, the Avengers, and Doctor Doom actually looks like. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 18.
