You know it’s sh*t when politics interferes with art, right? When politics comes in the way of entertainment, but that is happening and that is the sad political reality we are living in today, or, to be more precise, we have been living in for a while now.

Among the countries that are prone to banning or censoring works are countries in the Middle East, and Lebanon has just put a second major Disney release on its ban list this year.

Namely, as per the local media, the country has banned the release of Disney’s new Snow White in the country due to the presence of Israeli actress Gal Gadot in the movie.

The tension between Israel and Lebanon has always been there, and, as per the local media, Lebanon’s Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar has decided to act on that by adding Snow White to the list of banned movies. This isn’t surprising per se, as both Israel and Lebanon are prone to such ridiculous decisions, but it is a shame that people won’t be able to enjoy the movie if they wanted to.

This is also the second major Disney release this year that got banned in the Mediterranean country. Earlier this year, Captain America: Brave New World was also banned due to the presence of Israeli actress Shira Haas.

And while some are seeing this as a result of the recent events in the Middle East, some sources claim that Gal Gadot has long been on Lebanon’s ban list and that none of her movies were released in the country, which means that Snow White was bound to be banned at one point or another.

Neither Disney nor Gal Gadot’s reps have officially responded to this.
