LEGO's New Super Star Destroyer Is the Longest Set the Company Has Ever Built

LEGO’s Ultimate Collector Series has spent years defining what serious adult fans expect from a top-tier Star Wars set, delivering increasingly massive builds packed with screen-accurate detail. That reputation only grew last October with the record-breaking $999.99 Death Star, and now the company is pushing the line even further with its next major reveal.

Star Wars collectors have been chasing an updated Executor for years, ever since the original 2011 Super Star Destroyer UCS set sold out and became a grail piece for anyone who missed it the first time around. Rumors and leaks about a modernized version had been circulating for months, with details slowly firming up throughout the summer.

Now it’s official. LEGO has unveiled the Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457), a 6,130-piece Ultimate Collector Series set that becomes the longest LEGO Star Wars model ever produced, measuring an imposing 53.5 inches long, over 7.5 inches high, and 20 inches wide. The set carries a price tag of $799.99, and it’s nearly double the piece count of the original 2011 version, which topped out at 3,152 pieces.

That scale puts the new Executor in rare company across LEGO’s entire catalog, not just its Star Wars lineup. At 53.5 inches, it edges past even the previous record-holding Titanic set (10294) at 135cm, though it still falls just outside the top ten biggest LEGO sets by total piece count, landing at 14th overall behind sets like this year’s 12,060-piece Sagrada Família.

Beyond sheer size, the set’s minifigure lineup is drawing plenty of attention from longtime collectors. For the first time ever in a single set, all six bounty hunters from “The Empire Strikes Back” are included alongside Darth Vader: Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, IG-88, 4-LOM, and Zuckuss, with Dengar getting a refreshed backpack build and IG-88 featuring a newly molded head. Previously, assembling that full roster required piecing together several separate sets, including the original 2011 Super Star Destroyer, the Slave I 20th Anniversary Edition, and the Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack.

The set also includes a smaller microscale Star Destroyer displayed alongside the main Executor build on its stand, giving the display an added sense of scale befitting the Imperial flagship’s role in the films. LEGO has designed the minifigures to be displayed on their own section of the ship’s bridge, echoing the iconic bounty hunter briefing scene from “The Empire Strikes Back.”

The Executor Super Star Destroyer becomes available to LEGO Insiders members starting October 1, 2026, before its wider public release on October 4. Anyone who purchases the set between October 1 and October 10 will also receive Darth Vader’s Lightsaber (40897), a 174-piece gift-with-purchase set, while supplies last.

With LEGO Star Wars gearing up for the franchise’s 50th anniversary celebrations next year, this Executor release looks like a fitting capstone to 2026’s lineup, giving collectors one more must-have centerpiece before an already leak-heavy 2027 slate ramps up.
