Linda Hamilton Returns to Sci-Fi in Explosive New Trailer for Alien Survival Thriller
A new sci-fi action film, Osiris, is gearing up to deliver a gripping tale of survival. Directed by William Kaufman, the movie follows a team of Special Forces soldiers whose routine mission takes a shocking turn when they’re abducted by an alien spacecraft.
Trapped aboard, they face a deadly hunt by a mysterious alien race, forcing them to fight for their lives while unraveling the ship’s secrets. A surprising twist reveals one passenger claims to have been under alien control for years, adding layers of distrust and tension.
The film boasts a strong cast, including Linda Hamilton, Max Martini, Brianna Hildebrand, LaMonica Garrett, Stanley White Jr., and Michael Irby. Kaufman, who co-wrote the script with Paul Reichelt, praised the collaboration.
“Working with Max Martini for a second time, Linda Hamilton, Brianna Hildebrand and the legendary creature effects maestro Todd Masters, along with the rest of our exceptional cast and crew, to bring this old-school action sci-fi thriller to life was just incredible,” he said. “We filmed the movie as practically as possible from the aliens, set builds, and stunts – all to stay true to the movies we love. We are thrilled to partner with Vertical to reach a wide audience that will appreciate our approach.”
Production began in New Orleans in March 2024, wrapping by year’s end with a budget of about $6.7 million. Vertical secured distribution rights in May 2025. The trailer hints at high-stakes action, showcasing the team’s shift from a standard mission to a chaotic battle in an alien environment.
Kaufman emphasized practical effects, including real sets and stunts, to capture the gritty feel of classic sci-fi thrillers. While no release date has been set, Osiris is poised to thrill fans of the genre.
Osiris sounds like a refreshing throwback to intense, practical-effects-driven sci-fi, and Linda Hamilton’s presence is a big draw. The premise of soldiers hunted by aliens with a twist of psychological intrigue has me hooked, but I hope the story delivers depth beyond the action.
Kaufman’s commitment to authenticity is promising. What do you think about Osiris and its old-school approach? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
