Maria Sten Reveals Why She Loves Playing Frances Neagley on ‘Reacher’

The third season of Reacher is officially over and the fans are now waiting for the upcoming fourth season. At the same time, the impact of the lauded third season is still being discussed online.

But it’s not just the fans who are talking about the series. We have already written several reports on Alan Ritchson’s comments about the third season, and now it is time to present another cast member.

Namely, Maria Sten recently talked about the series and why she loves playing Frances Neagley, one of the series’ most important characters. We are going to bring you the most important elements.

As we know, Neagley is soon getting her solo spin-off series, while continuing to appear in Reacher, so fans will have a lot more to enjoy. She said that she was hopeful a spin-off could be made, but that she did not believe it until she received a confirmation.

“There are always rumors. There’s always, “In success, maybe this could happen.” And you’re like, “Uh huh, sure,” because it’s Hollywood, right? It’s not over until it’s over and it’s printed and has aired,” she began.

“So, I always just took it like, “Oh, that’d be interesting, but it doesn’t mean anything to me if it’s not a concrete thing that is happening. I’m cautiously optimistic in that way. And so, it wasn’t really until after Season 2, going into Season 3, that the conversation started becoming more real,” she concluded.

She also said that we would see more of Neagley’s personal aspects in the spin-off series, which is going to add a lot of depth to her. “Certainly. I’m so impressed with what they were able to do with the scripts for this Neagley show. It’s so its own thing, but of course, it’s true to the Reacher spirit. It’s Neagley. It’s about her,” she explained.

She added: “It certainly is about what’s going on in her personal life, as well as her professional life. Most of the time, for people like this, the two tend to overlap. So, I’m just excited to dive into that and explore the emotional life of the character, as well as the badass private investigator work that she will be doing.“

It is clear that Sten loves playing Neagley. “It was so great that everybody — it doesn’t matter who they are or whether they are men or women, young or old, or whether you’re in Africa or India or South America or America — loved the character and had something good to say, at least the people that I’ve heard from. It’s so satisfying to be able to deliver something that has apparently seemed to connect so much with a global audience,” she explained.

And with such a strong connection that Sten has with her character, it is becoming apparent that the Neagley-centered spin-off might be as big of a hit as Reacher.
