‘Marvel Rivals’ Unveils King Thor Skin Ahead of Season 10’s Next Big Drop

Marvel Rivals has kept its cosmetic pipeline running at a relentless pace since Season 10 launched earlier this month, and the God of Thunder is next in line for a major glow-up. The season has already centered its story around Gorr the God Butcher, who joined the roster as a new melee-focused Duelist, while the new God Quarry map and a Loki-inspired event called The Tetrameron have kept the Asgardian theme running through nearly every corner of the update.

Against that backdrop, Thor getting a new costume tied to his own comic mythology tracks with where the season has been heading all along. The developer has been rolling out a steady stream of cosmetics throughout Season 10, including Pajama Party skins for characters like Jubilee, Magneto, Mantis and Daredevil, alongside Moon Knight’s Eternity Knight look.

Now Thor is getting his turn with something considerably heavier than pajamas. Marvel Rivals confirmed on its official X account that a new King Thor costume is headed to the game, showing off a heavily armored, battle-worn version of the character wielding an axe-like hammer and sporting the horned helmet associated with his older, more battle-hardened comic incarnation.

The skin is set to arrive Thursday, September 25 at 10:00 PM EDT, putting it right in the same window as several other Season 10 releases, including Mantis’s and Daredevil’s Pajama Party costumes. It’s currently listed with Epic rarity, placing it a tier below the game’s most premium cosmetic offerings but still squarely in the range players tend to prioritize picking up.

The King Thor design pulls from Thor’s older, ruler-of-Asgard era in the comics, where he’s depicted as a grizzled, one-eyed warrior king who’s traded his classic look for full battle armor after decades of war. It’s a notably different aesthetic from the character’s usual Rivals appearance, giving Thor mains a heavier, more grounded alternative skin to unlock.

Season 10 isn’t slowing down after this drop, either. Luna Snow and Phoenix are both due for Celestial Messenger skins the following week on October 2, the same day the King Thor costume was originally expected before its release got moved up. The season itself is slated to run through October 9, when a mid-season update, Season 10.5, will pick up the content cycle from there.

For a season already leaning hard into Asgardian and mythological themes through Gorr’s arrival and the Loki-focused Tetrameron event, giving Thor his own comic-accurate king transformation feels like a fitting centerpiece rather than just another rotating cosmetic. Whether it becomes one of the season’s most-picked-up skins will likely come down to how the final in-game render compares to the promotional artwork once it actually drops.
