Back in 2021, it was announced that the Hawkeye series that aired on Disney+ would be getting a spinoff series following Maya Lopez, better known as Echo. Now with Echo set to be released in late 2023, fans are getting eager to find out everything there is to know about the upcoming seventh series in the MCU phase 5, titled “Echo.” The filming wrapped up back in 2022, and we know the cast members that are going to be joining Alaqua Cox. What we don’t have many details about are the filming locations of the upcoming series. Due to that, let’s take a look at where was Marvel’s Echo filmed?

Marvel’s Echo was filmed in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, the city itself, at Peachtree City, Social Circle, and Grantville, Georgia. The majority of the filming locations are covered by the Atlanta area, so we can expect to see diverse locations in the series.

Now that we’ve covered the filming locations, it’s time to analyze them in more detail. If you want to learn more about the upcoming series and where it was filmed, stay with us and keep reading!

What is Marvel’s Echo about?

Following the successful debut of the Hawkeye series at Disney+, it was announced back in 2021 that the series would be getting its own spinoff based on one of the supporting characters in the series, Maya Lopez, aka Echo. Echo is a street-level superhero, a deaf athlete, and a martial artist whose “superpower” is the ability to perfectly copy her opponent’s moves. Due to that, Echo proved to be quite the skilled martial artist and formidable opponent to face.

The series will follow Maya Lopez (played by Alaqua Cox) following the events from the Hawkeye series as she returns to her hometown and reconnects with her Native American roots. Marvel’s Echo filming locations

Most of the filming occurred in the Atlanta Metropolitan area, including the city itself. The filming wrapped up in August 2022; since then, there haven’t been many details regarding the show’s sets. Still, we’ve managed to find some info about the filming locations.

Peachtree City, Georgia

A part of South Metro Atlanta, Peachtree is the largest city in Fayette County, Georgia. This is not the first time that Peachtree city was involved with filming, as it often served as a backdrop for other series, most notably the Walking Dead.

Social Circle, Georgia

Forty-five miles east of Atlanta, you can find Social Circle Georgia, located in Walton County. Social Circle, like Peachtree City, appeared on screen before. Notable shows filmed in the small town include A Haunting and the movie Jerry and Marge Go Large.

Grantville, Georgia

Grantville, Georgia, is located along the southern border of Coweta County. The city is most famous for its dilapidated buildings that serve as a backdrop for any post-apocalyptic show. Tourism in the town is at an all-time high following the shooting of The Walking Dead TV show, the movie Lawless and Broken Bridges.

Stephen Broussard explained the more rural setting for the series in an interview with Collider. He described the series as being unique and grounded.

“It’s always about embracing whatever it is, right? Like embracing a Universal Hammer Horror film, kind of leaning into that and, I think leaning into what’s unique about any viewing property. What’s unique about this property is that it’s much more grounded, and it’s in rural Oklahoma, which is where it takes place. So it’s fun, and it’s been an amazing teamwork, and working with that team behind the scenes.”

What is Marvel’s Echo release date?

Marvel Echo was at first scheduled to be released in the summer of 2023. The rumors about the delay of the series were confirmed by Marion Dayre. Echo is now expected to debut in late 2023 on the Disney+ streaming platform.
