‘Mass Effect’ TV Show Is Being Made by Same Team Behind ‘Fallout’ Series
The Mass Effect TV series is happening, and Amazon is the one making it. Fans have known about this since late last year, but now there’s a new piece of information that’s getting people talking again.
It turns out that some of the same people who worked on Amazon’s Fallout series are also working on Mass Effect.
This detail didn’t come from a press release or announcement. Instead, it came from a post by screenwriter Daniel Casey on Instagram.
He shared it back in November 2024, but fans only started noticing it recently. In that post, Casey said, “Doing this right is and has been top priority for nearly two years now. We have a great pilot script and series outline, the team that Amazon has in place (same team as #fallout including the fantastic @scottfarris) is incredible.”

The person he mentions, Scott Farris, is listed on LinkedIn as a senior TV executive and creative strategist at Amazon. That makes it clear that while the writing team is different, Amazon kept much of the same production team from Fallout for Mass Effect.
Since Fallout was received pretty well by both fans and critics, it’s no surprise Amazon wanted to keep that team around.
Right now, we still don’t know what the Mass Effect show is about. Nothing has been confirmed. There was a short plot description online that hinted the show might follow the original game trilogy, but many believe that was just a placeholder.
Some fans are actually hoping it was a placeholder. The idea of retelling the games exactly is a tricky one. Mass Effect lets players create their own version of Commander Shepard and make choices that change the story. If the show followed the games too closely, it would have to pick one version of Shepard and one set of choices. That would take away a lot of what made the games special for people.
The Fallout series avoided this problem by creating a new story and new characters in the same world. It didn’t follow any of the games directly. Because of how well that worked, there’s a good chance Amazon might do something similar with Mass Effect.
There’s still a lot we don’t know about the show, no release date, no casting news, no trailers. But knowing that experienced people from Fallout are involved gives fans something to be hopeful about.
