The new Masters of the Universe film has sparked major conversation after its post-credits scene introduced a key character from He-Man’s wider mythology, setting up what could become a much larger story universe.

According to director Travis Knight in an interview with ScreenRant, the cameo appearance of She-Ra is a deliberate hint at where the franchise could go next.

The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam and his heroic alter ego He-Man, alongside Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, and Jared Leto as Skeletor. While the movie already features several familiar figures from the classic Mattel toy line and animated series, the post-credits moment expands the world even further.

The surprise reveal shows She-Ra, a major character from the franchise’s extended lore, appearing in a brief but significant scene. She is shown on the planet Etheria, signaling that her story exists outside the main events of the film. The character is presented as fully formed, suggesting she has already been active in her own storyline beyond what audiences have seen so far.

Director Travis Knight explained that the intention behind the scene was not simply to tease a sequel, but to show that the universe of Masters of the Universe extends beyond the boundaries of the main film. He said he approached the project as if it might be a one-time opportunity, which influenced how much he included in the story itself.

“I assume I never get another shot at playing around with these characters in this world, so you don’t want to leave anything out there,” Knight said. He added that the film was designed to work as a complete story on its own, but still hint at a broader world. “There is a world that exists outside of the frame of the movie, and those character stories do go on whether we tell them cinematically or not.”

She-Ra’s inclusion is especially significant because of her deep connection to He-Man lore. In the original mythology, She-Ra is the twin sister of Prince Adam, known in her civilian identity as Princess Adora. She was introduced in the 1985 animated spin-off She-Ra: Princess of Power, where she was raised on the planet Etheria after being kidnapped as a child. She eventually becomes a powerful warrior who fights against the evil Horde using the Sword of Protection.

In the film, Queen Marlena, Adam’s mother, references a lost daughter, hinting at She-Ra’s existence before her appearance in the post-credits scene. However, Adam himself is not yet aware that he has a sister by the end of the movie, leaving their future meeting open for a potential sequel.

The post-credits scene has led to speculation that She-Ra could play a central role in future installments. Knight also suggested that if another film is made, her character would be a major part of the story moving forward.

While no sequel has been officially confirmed, the introduction of She-Ra strongly signals that the filmmakers are thinking beyond a single movie. The scene expands the mythology of Masters of the Universe and sets up the possibility of a larger cinematic universe built around He-Man, She-Ra, and the world of Eternia and Etheria.
