In a sea of upcoming projects based on Marvel characters, several of them have been severely delayed and affected by the historic SAG-AFTRA strike that only recently ended after paralyzing productions in Hollywood for 118 days. But, one MCU project seemingly had problems that weren’t so directly connected to the strike, the upcoming fourth installment in the Captain America series.

‘Captain America: Brave New World’ initially switched release dates with ‘Deadpool 3’ since the movie was only halfway done when the strike began. But then rumors resurfaced that ‘Captain America’ is undergoing another round of reshoots, allegedly due to test screenings being less than satisfactory. More recently, additional details resurfaced that, apparently, action filmed so far was underwhelming when compared to previous installments in the series.

Now, Marvel Studios has hired Matthew Orton to work as a screenwriter on reshoots, according to Deadline, and one more round is scheduled for spring-summer of 2024. In case you missed it, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ won’t be released in 2024 after all. It was pushed back to February 14, 2025, and if the reshoots go well, we can expect the movie to respect that release schedule.

Matthew Orton worked on ‘Operation Finale,’ ‘Devil’s Peak,’ but most notably, the MCU fans might know him for the extremely successful Disney+ series ‘Moon Knight.’

The full plot of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ naturally isn’t known yet, but what we do know is that Sam Wilson will be stepping into Rogers’ shoes, and some previous set photos point in the direction of the new Captain America facing off against King Cobra and Serpent Society

The movie will aim to establish Wilson as the new Cap finally, and from there, we will see where it goes. Have something to add? Let us know in the comments below!
