Meet Corinne and Anelise, the Daughters of Jamie Foxx Making Waves in the Spotlight
Jamie Foxx has always been open about how much he values being a father to his two daughters, Corinne and Anelise. Foxx became a dad for the first time in 1994 with Corinne, whom he shares with Connie Kline. Fifteen years later, he welcomed Anelise with Kristin Grannis.
In a 2017 interview with People, Foxx reflected on raising kids in the spotlight, saying, “Sometimes it can get crazy, but I’m proud that my kids have handled it so well.” He described fatherhood as being all about the small, meaningful moments.
“I love being called dad. I love watching them light up when you come into a room or helping them solve a problem I’ve probably faced before,” he said. His daughters have also been a source of support for him.
When Foxx suffered a stroke in 2023, it was Corinne who managed updates to the public. By summer 2025, he was healthy enough to accept the Ultimate Icon Honor at the BET Awards and spoke about how his daughters helped him survive and recover.
Corinne has followed in her father’s footsteps in the entertainment world. After graduating from the University of Southern California and studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she became a familiar face on TV as the co-host of Beat Shazam.
Working with her dad has been a highlight for her, and she said, “We have that typical father-daughter relationship where you can poke fun at each other, which makes the set feel like home.”
She has also become an Emmy-winning producer, bringing shows like Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! to life. The series used real funny moments from her childhood, including one where Foxx tried to scare one of her high school boyfriends with a group of his strongest friends.
Corinne still describes him as “an amazing father who gives me confidence.” In late 2024, Foxx walked Corinne down the aisle when she married Joe Hooten, calling her his “saving grace and a bright light in the world.”
Anelise, on the other hand, has followed a more musical path. Foxx has shared that she has incredible skill on the piano, and they bond through music. During his Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…,
he recalled how “her music helped me heal in the hospital. Her guitar playing was like a spiritual defibrillator that stabilized my vitals.” Anelise is also a talented athlete. Foxx has shared stories of her excelling in basketball and football, once making a sixty-yard play that left him amazed.
Both daughters have joined him in social causes, including attending protests for racial justice. Foxx said it was beautiful for them to see people come together, but noted the difficulty of explaining the painful reasons behind the events.
Meanwhile, Foxx has been busy with his career. He is making a cinematic comeback with the action-comedy Back in Action, co-starring Cameron Diaz and directed by Seth Gordon.
He also continues to develop projects under his Jamie Foxx Productions banner and remains active in music. Fans are looking forward to his portrayal of boxing legend Mike Tyson in an upcoming limited series.
Foxx’s relationship with his daughters continues to be central to his life. Between family, work, and social causes, he balances it all while staying devoted to the girls who mean the most to him.
