Meg Ryan brought classic Hollywood style to the Academy Awards, making a meaningful appearance to honor her late friend and director, Rob Reiner. The actress joined her When Harry Met Sally co-star Billy Crystal at the Dolby Theatre, along with other longtime collaborators, to pay tribute to Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, who passed away in December.

During the tribute, Billy Crystal spoke about Reiner’s impact on film. “My friend Rob’s movies will last for lifetimes because they were about what makes us laugh and cry and what we aspire to be, far better, in his eyes, far kinder, far funnier, and far more human,” Crystal said.

Standing with a group of actors who had worked closely with Reiner, he concluded, “For us who had the privilege of working with and knowing him and loving him, all we can say is, Buddy, what fun we had storming the castle.”

After the tribute, Ryan shifted to a more celebratory tone at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She wore a sleek, satin green dress with black platform heels and styled her blonde hair in a chic bob that fell just above her shoulders. Her appearance brought a glamorous contrast to the emotional moments earlier in the evening.

Ryan is known as a beloved figure in romantic comedies, starring in hits like When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve Got Mail. After taking time away from the spotlight to focus on family and personal growth, she returned to the screen in 2023 with the romantic comedy What Happens Later.

She not only starred in the film alongside David Duchovny but also co-wrote and directed it, marking an important next step in her long and storied career.

In addition to her work in film, Ryan is a dedicated mother to her two children, actor Jack Quaid and her daughter, Daisy. Fans have warmly welcomed her return to public life, as she balances her legendary career with her new creative projects and family life.
