Michael B. Jordan recently shared a surprising favorite movie with fans, revealing that the 1997 Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke is his all-time top pick. The actor made the announcement in a casual conversation with TikTok creator ThePeopleGallery shortly after winning the Best Actor Oscar on March 15.

Jordan’s love for anime is no secret. He has often spoken about how animated series have influenced his acting and directing style. During the promotion of Creed III in 2023, he explained that the emotional battles in Naruto inspired the final fight between Creed and Damian.

He told Polygon, “The fight between Creed and Damian had to be an even battle, and in an emotionally high place where these two men were both baring their souls to one another.” He added that the vulnerability in anime rivalries shaped how he approached that scene.

The actor also watches anime regularly to stay inspired. Shows like Dragon Ball Z and My Hero Academia help him build tension and deepen relationships between characters, including his work alongside Jonathan Majors.

Jordan is celebrating a major career milestone after his Oscar win for Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler. In the film, he plays twin brothers caught in a supernatural conflict. His acceptance speech was short but heartfelt, giving special thanks to Coogler and his family.

Following the ceremony, he kept things low-key with a visit to In-N-Out for a celebratory burger. Beyond acting, Jordan runs his production company, Outlier Society, and is working on several big projects.

He will star alongside Will Smith in a sequel to I Am Legend and return to the Tom Clancy universe with Rainbow Six, directed by Chad Stahelski. He continues collaborating with Ryan Coogler, and fans are eagerly watching for news of a potential fourth Creed movie.

With his recent success, Jordan has become a key figure in Hollywood, balancing blockbuster action films with critically acclaimed dramas. His open admiration for anime, especially classics like Princess Mononoke, shows how much the medium has shaped his creative vision and helps bring these stories to a wider audience.
