Mikey Madison made a stunning return to the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15. The actress, who won the Best Actress Oscar last year, arrived at the Dolby Theatre in a vibrant blood-red gown by Dior.

The dress featured a structured, curved bodice, off-the-shoulder straps, and delicate flower petals along the fabric. A high side slit revealed her burgundy peep-toe pumps, while a platinum necklace and drop earrings from Tiffany & Co. completed the look.

This red-carpet moment marked a bold shift from last year’s Oscars, where Madison wore a softer pink-and-black Dior gown. Since her win, she has been named an official ambassador for Dior under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson.

Madison’s role at the ceremony was especially meaningful because she passed the torch to the next Best Actress winner. Last year, she earned critical acclaim for her performance as Ani in Anora.

During her emotional 2025 acceptance speech, she said, “I grew up in Los Angeles, but Hollywood always felt so far away from me. So to be here standing in this room today is really incredible.” She also highlighted the community that inspired her role, adding, “I also just want to again recognize and honor the sex worker community. I will continue to support and be an ally.”

Since her Oscar win, Madison has stayed busy with major projects. She recently finished filming The Social Reckoning, the sequel to The Social Network, where she plays whistleblower Frances Haugen. The film, which hits theaters in October, stars Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield.

Madison is also working on a darkly comedic A24 project, The Masque of the Red Death, a reimagining of the Edgar Allan Poe classic. Directed by Charlie Polinger and co-starring Léa Seydoux, filming began in Budapest in February.

Industry insiders say it promises to be a wild and unique take on the gothic story. Additionally, she is set to star in Reptilia alongside Kirsten Dunst, exploring Florida’s exotic animal trade.

From her indie beginnings to blockbuster roles, Madison continues to be one of Hollywood’s most exciting young talents. Her return to the Oscars as a presenter shows she is moving from breakout winner to a permanent presence in the Academy’s elite, proving she has the talent and charisma to stay at the top.
