Dwayne Johnson’s funny interview mistake leads to a very personal confession He is known for keeping audiences entertained, whether he is acting in blockbuster movies, joking with fans, or sharing moments from his everyday life. But during a recent interview while promoting the live-action version of Disney’s Moana, the actor accidentally turned a simple question into a very unexpected conversation.

Johnson, who returns as Maui in the new adaptation of the animated hit, appeared on Kiss FM with host Tyler West to discuss the movie and his experience bringing the popular character back to the big screen. However, one question quickly created a hilarious misunderstanding that left both Johnson and the interviewer laughing.

According to the viral interview clip, West asked Johnson, “What’s your stroke of choice?” The question was actually about swimming, but Johnson understood it in a completely different way. After a short pause, the actor laughed and answered, “Domination.” The response immediately surprised West, who started laughing and explained what he actually meant. He was asking about swimming techniques, not anything personal.

Realizing his mistake, Johnson reacted with shock and joked, “Oh s*! I get it! Maui! The ocean! I went to a whole other place.” The actor then admitted that his answer may have revealed more than he intended, joking that he had accidentally shared information about his private life during a family movie interview. “I just completely gave away my sex life,” Johnson said.

Rather than avoiding the moment, Johnson embraced the joke. The actor later shared the clip on his own Instagram account, where he poked fun at himself for the mix-up. In the caption, Johnson wrote, “I may always look clean, but under the hood your boy’s filthy 💀🤣. Honestly thought he was asking about a different kind of ‘stroke’.” He also joked that the busy promotional schedule had started to affect him, adding, “Jesus 🤦🏽‍♂️😂 I need carbs. And sleep.”

Fans quickly reacted to the funny moment, praising Johnson for being able to laugh at himself. Many people commented that his immediate reaction made the clip even funnier, while others said they understood why the question caused confusion without context.

This is not the first time Johnson has made a playful comment about his personal life. The actor has often been open and humorous during interviews and on social media, regularly sharing jokes with his massive fanbase.

A few years ago, Johnson also made headlines after commenting on a discussion involving DJ Khaled and his comments about relationships. Johnson responded with his own humorous take, writing, “As a man, I take great pride in mastering ALL performances. This is probably a little TMI.. I will now quietly excuse myself from this fun thread.”

The actor’s willingness to joke about himself has become part of his public image, helping him connect with fans beyond his movie roles.

While Johnson’s latest viral moment may have distracted attention for a few minutes, his main focus remains promoting Moana. In the upcoming live-action film, he once again plays Maui, the powerful demigod from the original animated movie.

The new Moana adaptation stars Catherine Laga’aia in the lead role and continues Disney’s recent trend of bringing animated classics into live action. For Johnson, however, one accidental answer during a radio interview may end up being one of the most talked-about moments of the entire promotional tour.
