‘Money Heist’ Spinoff ‘Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine’ Official Trailer Drops for New Heist Fans
The official trailer for Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine has been released, and it is already building excitement among fans of Money Heist.
According to Netflix, the show will arrive on May 15 on the streaming platform. It is a spin-off and prequel to the popular series Money Heist, and it focuses on the character Berlin, played by Pedro Alonso.
The series first premiered on December 29, 2023, and follows Berlin, also known as Andrés de Fonollosa. He is shown as a clever and stylish thief, dealing with his life as a terminally ill master criminal who specializes in big and risky robberies.
Netflix shared the announcement on Instagram, writing: “Seville? This is Berlin calling. Watch Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine: Limited Series, out 15 May, only on Netflix.”
Season 2 of the series is confirmed to include eight episodes. The writing team includes Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, who also created the original Money Heist. Other writers involved are David Barrocal, Lorena G. Maldonado, and Itziar San Juan.
The direction is handled by Albert Pintó, David Barrocal, and Jose Manuel Cravioto. They have previously worked on projects like Sky Rojo and Nowhere, bringing experience from other Netflix productions.
The cast for the new season also includes Michelle Jenner, Tristán Ulloa, Begoña Vargas, Julio Peña Fernández, and Joel Sánchez.
In the original Money Heist, Berlin was one of the most memorable characters. He was the Professor’s brother and played a key role in planning heists with his sharp mind and confident attitude. His story in the main series ended when he sacrificed himself during a robbery to protect his team.
Now, this spin-off continues to explore his past and gives more depth to his life before the events of the original show. With the new trailer now out, interest in the upcoming season has grown again, especially among fans of the franchise.
