My Hero Academia is getting ready for its big finale. After almost ten years, the anime is about to wrap up with its eighth and last season. Since it first aired in April 2016, the show has become one of the most popular modern anime, and fans have been waiting for this moment. Now, Toho Animation has dropped a brand-new trailer, giving everyone a first real look at what’s coming when the season premieres on October 4, 2025.

The trailer shows off the massive fight between Deku and Shigaraki. The destruction from their clash is everywhere, but the most powerful moment is Deku’s choice to try and save Shigaraki instead of destroying him. Even Nana Shimura tells him to finish it, but Deku refuses. He’s determined to reach the broken boy still trapped inside Shigaraki.

The trailer also reveals the new opening theme. It’s called The Revo and is performed by Porno Graffitti. Fans of the anime will remember that this is the same band that sang the very first opening back in 2016. Having them return for the last season feels like the story has come full circle.

Studio Bones is once again handling the animation, and from the trailer, it looks like they’re going all out. The action is intense, the emotions are heavy, and familiar faces return to support Deku. His mother, Class 1-A, Hawks, Lady Nagant, and All Might all appear in the new footage, cheering him on as the story reaches its peak. There’s even a strange shot of what fans are calling “Chekov’s volcano,” adding even more mystery to the final battle.

The timing of the trailer release is no accident. It was shared just before the Hero x Villain Fest, a special event for the series. While fans have been enjoying the spin-off Vigilantes in the meantime, nothing compares to the main story finally heading toward its conclusion.

With the new trailer out, excitement for the finale is bigger than ever. My Hero Academia is closing its run the same way it started: with a lot of heart, unforgettable fights, and a song by Porno Graffitti leading the way.
