The original board game first appeared back in 1935 and was created by Charles Darrow, based on The Landlord’s Game by Lizzie Magie. Since then, Monopoly has become one of the biggest board games of all time and it doesn’t surprise us that the brand is expanding.

As we know, several streaming services took part in the bidding process, but as the sources confirm, we have a winner!

Hasbro Entertainment, which owns the rights to the game, has recently put out an idea for a reality show based on Monopoly. And while we still don’t have too many details, we know that it is supposed to be like a grand-scale social experiment that will involve players collaborating, feuding, and scheming in real time to win in a game of Monopoly.

As we understand, several streamers have been in contention to get the series but Netflix has come on top, although we still don’t have any details.

What we do know is that Netflix is seriously expanding its reality game content. Everyone knows that Squid Game: The Challenge was an enormous success, and we also know that the streaming giant is working on The Golden Ticket, a reality game competition series set in the world of Willy Wonka.

More details are set to arrive later, so be sure to keep following us for more information!
