Netflix Drops ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2’ Release Date, New Trailer & Reveals 4 New Characters

Netflix is bringing fans back to Night City with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, and the wait now has a clearer timeline. The streaming service has confirmed that the second season of the hit anime series will arrive in Fall 2026.

The announcement was shared by Netflix over the weekend, revealing that the new season will feature 10 episodes. Along with the release window, the platform also introduced four new characters who will lead the next chapter of the Cyberpunk story.

Unlike the first season, which followed David Martinez and his crew of mercenaries, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will focus on a completely new group of outsiders trying to survive in the dangerous world of Night City.

According to details shared by Netflix, the new team includes Weak Kingsley, a former edgerunner who is struggling to move on from his past and still remembers his old glory days. Another new character is D, a young member of the Snake Nation nomads who is searching for the people responsible for killing his family.

The new crew also includes Talia Yang, a cyber-enhanced thrill seeker who lives for danger, and Roman Carax, a character described as a movie lover who brings a different personality to the group.

These four characters will step into the spotlight as the series introduces another story filled with violence, technology, and survival. Fans are hoping their journey will have a better outcome than David Martinez and his team, whose emotional story in the first season became one of the most memorable parts of the show.

Studio Trigger is once again returning to animate the series. The studio, known for projects like Kill la Kill and Delicious in Dungeon, helped give the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners its unique visual style and fast-paced action.

Netflix has also teased that the second season will be even darker and more intense than the first. The original series became a huge success after its release, gaining attention beyond the streaming platform and helping bring more players back to the Cyberpunk universe.

The popularity of Edgerunners led to several collaborations and expansions, including comic and manga projects, a board game, video game content, and connections to Cyberpunk 2077. The anime also helped improve interest in CD Projekt Red’s game after its difficult launch period.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners became one of Netflix’s most successful video game adaptations, joining other popular shows based on gaming franchises such as Castlevania, Devil May Cry, and Arcane.
