New Details Emerge About Tarantino-Verse Movie Directed by David Fincher, Netflix Involved?

A big new movie is coming from Netflix, directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt. The film is called The Adventures of Cliff Booth and is a follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The project recently showed up on a list for California film tax credits, where it received a huge $20 million credit. Sources say this confirms Netflix’s involvement in the movie.
The film’s budget isn’t officially known, but it is expected to have over $100 million in qualified expenses in California. The movie is set to be shot over 110 days in California, employing a large cast and crew, including hundreds of background actors.
Brad Pitt spoke about the film during the London red carpet event for his latest movie, F1. He said, “This is something Quentin Tarantino wrote. It’s an episode, not really a sequel, of the character from Once Upon A Time. He didn’t want to direct it at this point, so our friend David Fincher stepped in.” Pitt also confirmed that filming is scheduled to begin in July.
The story will continue the adventures of Cliff Booth, Pitt’s character from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Some of the cast members already confirmed include Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul Mateen II, Elizabeth Debicki, and Scott Caan.
Netflix has not officially commented on the project yet, but this latest tax credit announcement makes it clear that the movie is moving forward. The original Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was a big success, earning Brad Pitt an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. It was filmed in many well-known spots in Los Angeles, such as Hollywood Boulevard and the Cinerama Dome.
California’s government is pushing to increase film and TV production in the state by raising annual tax credits to $750 million, and this new film is part of a group of projects benefiting from recent incentives. The latest round of credits covers 48 projects with a total of about $96 million in credits, mostly going to smaller indie films.
According to the California Film Commission, these projects are expected to bring hundreds of millions in spending and wages to local workers.
From my point of view, this Netflix-Tarantino-Fincher-Pitt collaboration sounds like a major event for movie fans. It’s exciting to see such big names come together, especially on a follow-up to a much-loved film. What do you think about this new movie?
