Outlander is getting ready to say goodbye. Ahead of the show’s final episode, Starz released new photos from the series finale, giving fans an early look at the emotional ending waiting for Claire and Jamie Fraser.

The last episode, titled “And the World Was All Around Us,” premieres Friday, May 15 on Starz. The newly released images tease a tense and emotional chapter for the Fraser family as war approaches and major goodbyes begin to unfold.

According to Starz, the finale will center on Jamie and Claire trying to protect the life they built together while facing the dangers surrounding Kings Mountain. The official logline says, “Jamie and Claire must protect the home that they’ve made and trust in the love that binds them.”

The biggest question hanging over the finale comes from Frank Randall’s history book. Earlier in Season 8, Brianna and Roger returned from the future with the book, which suggested Jamie could die during the Battle of Kings Mountain. Since then, the fear of losing Jamie has followed the Fraser family as they prepare for the conflict ahead.

The newly released photos make it clear that everyone knows the stakes are high. Several images show Jamie sharing emotional moments with his loved ones before leaving for battle. One photo captures Jamie and Brianna embracing, while another shows Jamie giving Claire a heartfelt kiss that could potentially be their final goodbye.

The relationship between Claire and Jamie has always been the center of Outlander since the show began. Claire first traveled back to the 1740s during World War II and eventually fell in love with Jamie Fraser, leaving behind her old life to stay with him in Scotland. Over the years, the couple survived wars, separations, and time travel, which is why the finale is already emotional for longtime viewers.

Other photos from the episode also reveal what the rest of the Fraser family will face. Ian and Rachel share an emotional farewell before Ian joins the march toward battle. Roger is also seen preparing alongside Jamie and Ian, suggesting he may play a larger role in the coming fight than expected.

Meanwhile, Brianna appears focused on helping prepare weapons and supplies at Fraser’s Ridge. Some of the images also hint at tension between Brianna and Claire, showing the mother and daughter in a serious conversation before the battle begins.

The finale photos also include young Fanny staying close to Brianna at the Ridge after recently reconnecting with family members. It remains unclear what her future will look like after the war begins.

The ‘Outlander’ Books Still Don’t Have a Final Ending — Here’s Exactly Where Jamie and Claire’s Story Stands

One image that is already getting attention from fans shows Claire standing alone and looking uncertain as she surveys the camp before the battle. Another shows Jamie quietly looking over Fraser’s Ridge, possibly reflecting on everything he has fought for throughout the series.

The final season has spent much of its story building toward Kings Mountain, and the finale now seems ready to answer whether Frank’s prediction about Jamie’s fate will actually come true. Outlander has often changed history in unexpected ways, so fans are still unsure whether the prophecy can be avoided.

For now, Starz is keeping major plot details secret, but the first-look photos make one thing clear: the Outlander finale is going to be emotional from start to finish.
