New ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Promo Gives Fans Another Exciting Look
The new promo for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been released, and it gives fans another look at the upcoming Marvel movie before its arrival in theaters on July 31. The film is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to continue the story of Peter Parker after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
According to information shared by Sony Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures, the movie follows Peter Parker as he lives a new life where the world no longer remembers him. He continues to protect New York City on his own while dealing with new dangers and changes to his powers. The film is also part of Phase Six of the MCU.
The movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The screenplay is written by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, and Justin Kuritzkes. The story is based on the Marvel Comics idea Brand New Day, which focused on a reset in Spider-Man’s life and identity.
Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. In this version of the story, Peter is fully alone and works as a street-level hero in New York City. He is trying to balance his life while facing a new threat. Holland has said the role shows a different side of the character as he moves into adulthood and takes on full responsibility as Spider-Man.
Zendaya returns as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, who is now attending MIT. Jacob Batalon also returns as Ned Leeds, who is studying at the same school. Their lives have changed since high school, and Peter is no longer part of their everyday world.
Sadie Sink is also part of the cast in an undisclosed role. Jon Bernthal appears as Frank Castle / Punisher, a violent vigilante who uses extreme methods to fight crime. His character brings a darker tone to parts of the story. Tramell Tillman plays Bill Metzger, the head of the Department of Damage Control, which monitors superpowered individuals.
Michael Mando returns as Mac Gargan / Scorpion, a criminal who previously faced Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). Mark Ruffalo also joins the film again as Bruce Banner / Hulk. In this story, Banner is a professor at Empire State University and helps Peter understand changes happening to his powers. He uses an inhibitor device to control his transformations, although the film also explores the return of his more aggressive Hulk side.
Production on the film began after years of planning. Sony and Marvel first discussed a fourth Spider-Man film in 2019. By 2021, producer Amy Pascal confirmed that a new trilogy was being planned with Tom Holland returning. Work on the story started soon after, with writers McKenna and Sommers returning to the project. Director Destin Daniel Cretton joined later in 2024, and Justin Kuritzkes helped rewrite the script with him. Filming took place between August and December 2025 in locations including Glasgow and parts of England, with studio work at Pinewood Studios.
