A new set video from the filming of Man of Tomorrow is giving fans a closer look at a tense and violent moment between Superman and Lex Luthor, and it has quickly started a wave of online reactions.

The footage, shared by James Nobbe on Facebook, shows David Corenswet’s Superman in a heated physical fight with Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor. In the clip, Lex is seen on the ground in his comic-accurate Warsuit while Superman appears to be striking him repeatedly. People gathered on the street can also be seen reacting, with some even cheering as the scene unfolds.

At this point, there is no official explanation for what is happening in the scene. The video does not show the full context of the fight, leaving fans to speculate about what led to this brutal confrontation between the two longtime enemies.

Since both characters are expected to have a complicated dynamic in the film, the moment has sparked even more curiosity about their relationship in the story.

Man of Tomorrow is an upcoming DC Universe film written and directed by James Gunn. It serves as a follow-up to Superman (2025) and is the fourth major film in the new DCU lineup. The movie stars David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The cast also includes Skyler Gisondo, Isabela Merced, Frank Grillo, María Gabriela de Faría, Sara Sampaio, Milly Alcock, and others.

The film follows Superman and Lex Luthor, who are forced into an uneasy partnership when a much larger threat appears in the form of Brainiac, a superintelligent alien android from the planet Colu. Despite their history as enemies, the two are expected to work together in order to stop him.

James Gunn first revealed he was developing a continuation of Superman (2025) in June 2025. The official title and early story details were announced later that year. Filming for Man of Tomorrow began in April at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with additional production taking place in the United Kingdom and Cincinnati, Ohio. The shoot is expected to continue through mid-2026.

The film is currently scheduled for release on July 9, 2027, by Warner Bros. Pictures and will be part of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

The newly surfaced video adds another layer of excitement around the project, especially as it shows a more intense and physical side of Superman and Lex Luthor’s rivalry. While fans wait for official plot details, moments like this are only increasing speculation about how their uneasy alliance will unfold on screen.
