Marvel’s streaming trilogy has finally reached its last chapter, and ‘VisionQuest‘ wasted no time getting into gear. The series premiered on Disney+ today, and fans are already hungry for the next installment of Vision’s strange digital odyssey.

The show follows White Vision, who has been hiding his identity and living as a human for years, working at a pub. His quiet life is disrupted by a boy named Tommy, played by Ruaridh Mollica, and by the arrival of Todd Stashwick’s Paladin, a bounty hunter chasing him. Meanwhile, James Spader’s Ultron lurks in Vision’s mind, creating the father and son dynamic at the heart of the series.

Now Marvel has released a new clip from the third episode, which IGN debuted. The short clip shows Vision seated in a pickup truck, speaking with a younger man beside him, and offers an early look at the more grounded, road-bound side of the story. The episode is titled ‘Reboot’ and arrives October 21.

Spoilers ahead for the first two episodes. The second episode ended with Vision surviving the adamantium bullets Paladin fired at him, though his condition remains serious. He also lost the processing power that J.A.R.V.I.S. provided, which leaves open whether he can function at full capacity or whether the AI can be restored.

Tommy’s real identity is another thread to watch. The third episode may offer more clues about his past and his relationship with Vision, and it may also show how he deals with his own abilities. ‘Reboot’ as a title suggests Vision will spend time repairing himself and rethinking what comes next.

‘VisionQuest’ has been pitched as a story that mixes humor, action and identity-themed drama. An earlier clip showed Vision and Ultron stopped by a security bot that asks them to prove they are not robots, a funny gag that highlights their odd couple dynamic. That is a big shift from their enemies-turned-creator relationship in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.

The cast also features T’Nia Miller as the vengeful robot Jocasta, along with human versions of J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y. and E.D.I.T.H., played by James D’Arcy, Orla Brady and Emily Hampshire. Tommy, meanwhile, is an 18-year-old orphan newly out of the foster care system in London, according to production details.

The schedule is unusual. Disney+ is releasing 2 episodes at a time, with the first 2 on October 14, the third and fourth on October 21, and the fifth and sixth on October 28. The seventh arrives November 4, and the finale lands November 11.

Episodes drop at 9 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. PT. The first 6 episodes run between 45 and 54 minutes, while the last 2 clock in at 62 and 68 minutes, making them the longest MCU TV episodes to date.

The series is the final installment in a trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision’ and continued with ‘Agatha All Along’. Wanda herself is absent from the story, according to the showrunner. Vision’s participation in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ remains unconfirmed, with Paul Bettany missing from official casting announcements while the Russo brothers keep appearances secret.

Showrunner Terry Matalas reportedly designed the ending so that Vision and Tommy could move into the film depending on how the series resolves. That makes each new episode a possible clue to what comes next for the characters.

For now, fans have 1 week to wait for the next double dose.
