Nicholas Galitzine Shows Intense Training in New ‘Masters of the Universe’ Featurette
A new featurette for Masters of the Universe has given fans a closer look at Nicholas Galitzine’s transformation into He-Man.
The actor also previously opened up about just how intense the preparation really was. Speaking in recent interviews, Galitzine explained that the role pushed him into a demanding physical routine while filming the upcoming live-action reboot.
He said the training period was very fast and intense, noting, “It was a pretty short amount of time. You kind of would love to live in this character for a year beforehand but the training very much changed as the movie went on.” He also shared that the production team pushed him to build as much muscle as possible for the role of Prince Adam and He-Man.
At certain points, his daily routine became extremely strict. Galitzine revealed, “having up to 5,000 calories sometimes, weightlifting for three hours a day,” describing how his diet and workouts were designed to support rapid muscle growth. As filming continued, the approach shifted to something more controlled, but still very demanding.
He also described how difficult it was to balance that level of physical strain with the fast pace of production. He explained, “So, you’re shooting a scene, they say, ‘You have 10 minutes until the next set up,’ you run outside, you hop on the assault bike, run back in, shoot a scene again, and that kind of goes on for about five months.”
The actor added that managing his diet while doing action-heavy scenes made things even tougher. He said, “You have that brain fog. So, I definitely felt like that was a thing but especially when you’re doing these action set pieces, you’ve gotta have energy for it.”
Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight and is based on the classic Mattel franchise. The story follows Prince Adam as he discovers his destiny as He-Man and returns to Eternia to face Skeletor in a battle to save his world.
The film spent years in development before finally moving forward under Amazon MGM Studios. It was shot in London between 2025 and 2026, after multiple changes in direction, casting, and production plans.
Alongside Nicholas Galitzine, the cast includes Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Jared Leto, and Alison Brie. The movie is set for release on June 5 and is expected to deliver a large-scale action story focused on He-Man’s transformation and his fight against Skeletor.
