Nicki Minaj Involved in Lawsuit That Could Cost Over $275K
Nicki Minaj is faced with a lawsuit that claims she owes over $275,000 to a production company, according to court records obtained on March 24. The company, 24/7 Productions, says the rapper did not pay for services they provided during several big events.
The professional relationship reportedly started in 2022 when the firm handled live production for her appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Things got more complicated in late 2023 after Minaj’s performances at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball and during the promotion of her album Pink Friday 2.
24/7 Productions says they managed everything, from audio and lighting to staff and transportation, all after getting budget approvals from Minaj’s team. Despite delivering these services, the lawsuit claims that Minaj’s company, Pink Friday Productions, never paid the full balance.
The firm says they were still owed money even after Minaj’s team collected about $650,000 for the Jingle Ball shows. For months, the company claims they tried to settle the matter privately, but Minaj’s team only offered vague responses.
“Whenever we reached out, they said they were looking into it, but no payments were made,” the firm told sources. Minaj herself has not publicly addressed the lawsuit. However, her close associate and senior political advisor, Alex Bruesewitz, dismissed the reports, calling them false.
Another day, another TMZ lie about @NICKIMINAJ.

The legal issues come at a tricky time for the rapper’s music career. Her sixth studio album, often referred to as NM6, was supposed to be released on March 27. Last month, Minaj told fans the project is on hold while she renegotiates her recording contract. She also mentioned a supposed industry campaign aimed at holding back her music.
Outside of music, Minaj has been busy growing her Billionaire Barbie brand. She is reportedly working on documentaries and a series of audiobooks about her life and career.
She has also hinted at returning to acting, building on previous roles in Barbershop: The Next Cut and voice work in The Angry Birds Movie 2, though no new projects have been confirmed for this year.
In fashion and beauty, Minaj continues to run her fragrance lines and recently released a collection of press-on nails that remain popular with her fanbase, known as the Barbz. Even with her music on pause, she stays active in pop culture through her businesses and social media.
The industry is watching the lawsuit closely, as it could affect her future tours and the release of the long-awaited follow-up to her 2023 hits. The rapper has often spoken out about feeling blocked by gatekeepers in the music industry.
She has hinted that her next moves will be bold and independent. For now, fans are waiting to see how both the financial disputes and her ongoing contract issues will be resolved.
