Nicole Kidman has had a career most actors can only dream of, and she reflected on the three films she considers her personal favorites. Her journey in Hollywood spans over four decades and nearly 70 film and TV credits, showing her incredible range across every genre.

Kidman’s rise to global stardom began in part with her work on Eyes Wide Shut, Stanley Kubrick’s final film, where she reunited on screen with her then-husband, Tom Cruise. She described that period as intense but creatively fulfilling, a time when she felt truly inspired.

When asked about the three films she would most want audiences to remember, Kidman surprised many by choosing three movies she filmed back-to-back. Her first pick was Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge! from 2001, where she played Satine, the star of a Parisian cabaret. She explained that the role allowed her to combine drama with musical performance, proving she was capable of more than just romantic leads.

Next, she highlighted the chilling ghost story The Others, portraying a mother trapped in a fog-filled mansion. “It was about creating a sense of tension and fear without ever going over the top,” she said, noting the psychological depth of the film made it stand out.

Her final choice was the 2002 drama The Hours, which won her the Academy Award for Best Actress. Kidman transformed physically and emotionally to play Virginia Woolf, wearing a prosthetic nose and fully immersing herself in the author’s complex mind. “It was a role that demanded everything from me, but it remains one of my proudest moments,” she added.

Even as she celebrates these past milestones, Kidman is busier than ever today. She stars in the highly anticipated Prime Video series Scarpetta, set to premiere on March 11. In the crime thriller, she plays forensic pathologist Dr. Kay Scarpetta alongside her real-life friend Jamie Lee Curtis.

She’s also filming the third season of Paramount+’s espionage series Lioness, working again with Zoe Saldaña and Morgan Freeman in Texas. Meanwhile, fans are excited for the long-awaited sequel, Practical Magic 2, where Kidman reunites with Sandra Bullock for another magical adventure.

Outside of acting, Kidman remains a prominent figure in fashion and culture. She was recently named a global ambassador for Chanel and will co-chair the next Met Gala, celebrating art and fashion alongside stars like Beyoncé.

From red carpets to film sets, Kidman continues to prove she can balance a wide-ranging career with style and grace. “I love exploring new roles and taking on challenges that push me,” she said, reflecting on her decades-long journey.
