Noah Schnapp Reveals Truth Behind Boyfriend Post After Fans React

Noah Schnapp recently cleared up the confusion around a post that had fans talking online. The actor, best known for his role in Stranger Things, shared on Instagram that his supposed boyfriend reveal was not real. According to his own update on April 2, the whole thing was just an April Fools’ joke.

The original post showed Schnapp standing with another person on a rooftop. He added a caption with a heart and mentioned a one-month anniversary. A lot of people quickly assumed he was going public with a relationship. The photo spread fast across social media, and fans started reacting right away.

But the next day, Schnapp explained what really happened. He went on Instagram Stories and kept it simple. He wrote, “April fools”, making it clear the post was just meant for fun and not a real announcement.

Even though this moment was just a prank, Schnapp has been open about his personal life in a real way over the past few years. Back in 2023, he came out as gay and has since talked about how that journey played out for him. In past interviews, he said his role as Will Byers helped him understand himself better.

He once explained how playing the character changed things for him, saying, “Once I did fully embrace that Will was gay, it was just an exponential speed towards accepting it for myself. I would be in a completely different place if I didn’t have Will to portray, and to embrace and help me accept myself.”

He has also shared that the support from fans made a big difference. Seeing how people connected with Will’s story gave him the confidence to be honest about his own life. He said it helped him feel like he did not need to hide who he is anymore.

Outside of acting, Schnapp has been focusing on other parts of his life, too. He is studying at the University of Pennsylvania while also working on his snack brand, TBH, which focuses on more sustainable products.

For now, the actor seems to be balancing school, business, and his career while still having a bit of fun online. His joke may have fooled a lot of people, but he made sure to clear things up just as quickly.
