It looks like Deadpool is finally crashing the Avengers’ party. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth will appear in Marvel’s upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.

The rumors started early Tuesday morning when Reynolds shared an Avengers logo on social media, only this one had been tagged with graffiti.

Fans immediately suspected Deadpool’s involvement, and now sources confirmed to Heat Vision that he will indeed be part of the film. However, he won’t exactly be joining the Avengers team in the traditional sense.

Avengers: Doomsday is already packed with characters, including several fan-favorite mutants from Fox’s X-Men movies. Returning stars include Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Channing Tatum (from last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine)

As for Deadpool, reports say he’ll actually be part of a different group within the movie. That team is called Loki’s Exiles, and it’s made up of characters who have, in some way, messed with time and space. The rumored lineup features Deadpool and Wolverine, Sylvie Laufeydottir, B-15, Gambit, Captain Carter, and Nomad.

The film is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the same duo behind Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, with the script written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. It will bring together the Avengers, the Wakandans, the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers, and the original X-Men to battle Doctor Doom.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in the United States on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A direct sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, will follow on December 17, 2027.
