Pedro Pascal’s ‘Fantastic Four’ Salary Reportedly Outsizes Entire ‘Superman’ Cast Combined
Pedro Pascal is one of the busiest and most in-demand actors in Hollywood right now. Over the past few years, he’s taken on huge roles in major franchises like Star Wars, The Last of Us, Game of Thrones, and now the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
His latest project, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, sees him stepping into the role of Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic. And according to reports, the role came with a massive paycheck.
The Instagram account Wealth reported that Pascal was paid $10 million for the film. This is a huge jump compared to some of his past earnings, though he has been commanding high salaries for a while. Variety previously reported that Pascal made around $600,000 per episode of HBO’s The Last of Us. His work on that show, along with Disney+’s The Mandalorian, has helped cement his status as a household name.
Pascal isn’t the only big name in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach also star as Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm. Their pay hasn’t been revealed, but reports suggest their salaries are nowhere close to Pascal’s, even when added together.
The massive payday makes sense for Marvel Studios, which has been leaning heavily on star power to bring in audiences. Some fans have even joked about “Pedro fatigue” because of how many high-profile projects he’s been in lately. Still, the studio clearly sees him as a major draw for the movie.
James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, on the other hand, is taking a very different approach. That film stars David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. While both are respected actors, neither has the same blockbuster-level name recognition as Pascal.
According to Puck News, Corenswet and Brosnahan each earned $750,000 for their roles, while Nicholas Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor, made $2 million. Even when combined, the main Superman cast earned less than Pascal alone.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps was made with a budget of more than $200 million. As of August 3, 2025, the film has grossed $197.1 million in the United States and Canada, plus $170.3 million in other markets, for a worldwide total of $367.4 million. However, it also suffered the biggest second-weekend drop of any superhero film released this year.
Whether or not Pascal’s $10 million paycheck pays off for Marvel in the long run remains to be seen. But one thing’s clear, he’s one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood right now, and studios are willing to pay big to have his name on their posters.
