Camp Half-Blood has been quiet for a while now. Since ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ wrapped its second season, fans have spent months theorizing about where Percy, Annabeth, and Grover would go next, and just how faithfully the show would tackle one of the most beloved books in Rick Riordan’s series.

That patience was rewarded this week when the cast and crew gathered for a packed panel at San Diego Comic Con. Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri and several new additions to the ensemble took the stage in Hall H to give fans their first real look at what comes next for the young demigods.

The headline news arrived quickly. Disney+ confirmed that ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 3 will premiere on Friday, November 20, marking the show’s first release outside of December and its first time landing on a Friday instead of a Wednesday.

The new season adapts ‘The Titan’s Curse,’ the third book in Riordan’s original series, and it comes with real stakes attached. The story finds Percy and his friends racing to rescue both Annabeth Chase and the goddess Artemis from the Titan Atlas, all while a battle in a parking garage between Thalia Grace and a monster kicks the season into motion.

Executive producer Dan Shotz previewed how the show plans to expand on the source material rather than simply retrace it. He revealed that “Annabeth is separated from the group,” teasing to Deadline that the series intends to dig deeper into her side of the story than the book ever did.

That expansion lines up with a noticeably bigger cast this season. Dafne Keen joins as Artemis, with Jesse L. Martin, Kate McKinnon, David Costabile, Ming Na Wen, Jennifer Beals and Hubert Smielecki also entering the world of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ for the first time.

Returning favorites are very much still part of the mix as well. Leah Sava Jeffries, Charlie Bushnell, Tamara Smart and the rest of the established cast remain attached, even though Jeffries could only join the panel through a video message due to her filming schedule elsewhere.

Along with the date reveal, Disney+ debuted a short teaser and screened the opening minutes of the new season for the Hall H crowd. The footage gave fans their first extended glimpse of Thalia in action, setting the tone for a season built around one of the most emotionally charged books in the franchise.

It also represents new creative territory in a very literal sense. This will be the first time ‘The Titan’s Curse’ has ever been adapted for the screen, since an earlier attempt at a film version stalled out entirely.

Longtime readers have often pointed to ‘The Titan’s Curse’ as a turning point for the book series, one that introduces fan favorite characters while raising the emotional and mythological stakes considerably. Bringing that material to life gives the show a chance to explore corners of Riordan’s world that neither the films nor the earlier seasons ever touched.

Online reaction to the announcement has been immediate and enthusiastic. A post sharing the teaser and release date pulled in over 561.2K views, along with 3,100 reposts, 20,000 likes and 2,200 bookmarks, with 219 replies already debating what the new footage might mean for the season ahead.

With a firm release date locked in and a noticeably expanded cast, ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 3 looks primed to be the show’s biggest chapter yet. What are you hoping to see when the demigods return this November, let us know your thoughts in the comments.
