‘Power’ Star Reportedly Arrested in DeKalb on Child Cruelty and Disorderly Conduct Charges
Alix Lapri, best known for playing Effie Morales in Power Book II: Ghost, was arrested in DeKalb County last week.
According to jail records, the actress and singer-songwriter, whose real name is Alexus Lapri Geier, was booked on August 18, 2025, on charges of disorderly conduct and cruelty to children in the third degree. She was released just over 24 hours later.
The arrest shocked fans, especially since details about what led to the charges remain unclear.
Records don’t reveal much, but according to Atlanta’s WSB-TV, no court documents have been posted explaining the case. What has circulated online, however, is speculation that the incident may have involved her sister, Alijsha Lenea Geier, who was also arrested on the same day on the same charges.
Reports say Alijsha’s alleged offenses took place on August 10. She, too, spent around 24 hours in custody before being released on August 19. Social media chatter suggests the sisters may have gotten into an altercation in front of Alijsha’s young daughter, Harmony, though that detail has not been officially confirmed.
Days later, Alix broke her silence in her own way. On August 25, she posted a short Instagram Story video showing herself dressed up and walking, with nothing but three emojis on the screen. Her sister also shared a clip of them together at a restaurant with Harmony, captioning it “4 Lifers” alongside purple heart emojis.

Her Power Book II: Ghost co-stars Gianni Paolo and Michael Rainey Jr. also weighed in on the drama after The Shade Room posted her mugshot. Paolo commented, “Mugshot fine asf @michaelraineyjr,” to which Rainey replied, “He ain’t lie tho.”
Rainey also defended Lapri against the child cruelty accusations, writing, “On the real though, y’all gotta start reading before commenting. She didn’t hurt any kids. Y’all are hoping that’s the case so bad… That’s crazy. Smh.”
The actress has yet to release a full statement about her arrest. For now, fans are left waiting to hear her side as her mugshot continues to spread online.
Lapri has been building her career since 2011, starring in films like Den of Thieves alongside 50 Cent and Gerard Butler. In addition to acting, she’s also a singer, having released her EP I Am Alix Lapri in 2012. But despite her professional success, her recent arrest has placed her in the spotlight for very different reasons.
