Nicole Kidman is one of the most reliable faces in the front row at Paris Fashion Week, and when Chanel is the show, she tends to arrive with a look that gets people talking. Her ties to the house run deep, as she was named a Chanel brand ambassador last October.

This season, the Oscar winner found herself at the center of one of the week’s biggest events. Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2027 show took place at the Grand Palais on Monday, October 5, marking one year since artistic director Matthieu Blazy’s debut.

Kidman arrived in an oversized grey blazer dress in the house’s signature tweed, finished with gold buttons. She wore it over sheer black stockings with black pumps, a burgundy bag and long curtain-fringe hair, and photos of her posing on the carpet quickly made the rounds online.

The double-breasted piece, which stops high on the thigh, drew immediate attention for its menswear-inspired shape. Reality Tea credited celebrity stylist Jason Bolden with the look and said it blended classic French elegance with a modern edge, while theFashionSpot praised how it let the tweed craftsmanship shine without trousers.

Kidman, who was seen blowing kisses to fans, appeared relaxed and playful. In the photos, she poses with her hands tucked at her hips, and one frame catches her mid-smile with her eyes closed.

She did not walk in alone. Kidman attended with her 15-year-old daughter, Faith Margaret, who wore jeans, heeled pumps and a charcoal cardigan in a tone that echoed her mother’s outfit.

It was Faith’s second Paris appearance in as many days, since she had watched her older sister Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban walk in the Valentino show the day before. Kidman and her two daughters previously appeared together at Chanel’s pre-Oscars party in March, so the family outings are becoming a pattern.

Kidman was joined by a front row that read like a film festival guest list. Dua Lipa, Pedro Pascal, Alexa Demie, Marion Cotillard, Kristen Wiig, Sandra Hüller and Caroline de Maigret were among the guests.

Demie sat next to Kidman in a custom iridescent red-pink quilted skirt suit, while Lipa wore a feathered red floral set from the Cruise 2026/27 collection. Kidman and Lipa were reportedly dancing in their seats throughout the show, enjoying a soundtrack that finished with Britney Spears’s ‘Gimme More.’

The soundtrack also included Kidman herself. Chanel’s brand ambassador read extracts from Virginia Woolf’s ‘Orlando’ and ‘To the Lighthouse,’ a nod to her Oscar-winning role as the author, according to WWD.

The collection, titled ‘Free as a Bird,’ transformed the Grand Palais into a surreal landscape with almost 100 birds suspended from the ceiling, a huge moon and a multicolored glass floor. Blazy took Gabrielle Chanel’s life as his starting point, exploring the different women she became, from the young woman in restrictive Edwardian corsetry to the designer whose suits gave women greater ease.

Classic tweed suits and a return to the knee-length skirt anchored the runway, and the show opened and closed with model Dyanira Hurbuscher carrying Gabrielle Chanel’s own 2.55 handbag from the archives. Critics described Blazy as having found his footing a year into the job.

The Chanel appearance also follows another viral moment from the same evening. Footage showed Kidman, Pascal, Lipa and Wiig taking part in a lip-sync video to ADÉLA’s hit ‘Nicole Kidman,’ and the clip has since spread across social media.

Between the tweed, the front-row dancing and the family moment, Kidman made the most of her time in Paris.
