Laura San Giacomo is proving that she is still one of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces. The actress recently stepped onto the red carpet for the premiere of the second season of Sugar in Los Angeles, and her appearance quickly caught the attention of fans.

Now 63 years old, San Giacomo surprised many people with a fresh new style. The actress, who became famous for her dark hair during the 1990s, showed off a new blonde look with gray highlights, giving her a completely different appearance from the one many fans remember.

San Giacomo became a household name after playing Kit DeLuca, the best friend of Julia Roberts’ character Vivian Ward, in the 1990 classic Pretty Woman. The movie became one of the most popular romantic comedies of its time and helped launch her career to a wider audience.

After the success of Pretty Woman, San Giacomo continued working steadily in Hollywood. She became known for her role as Maya Gallo in the comedy series Just Shoot Me! and later appeared in shows such as Saving Grace and NCIS.

Her recent red carpet appearance also reminded fans of her long career and the special projects that helped define her journey.

One of the most meaningful experiences for San Giacomo was working with director Garry Marshall on Pretty Woman. Following Marshall’s death in 2016, the actress spoke about the impact he had on the cast and the welcoming environment he created on set.

Speaking about Marshall, San Giacomo described him as someone who brought people together. “He radiated warmth. It felt like being welcomed into a family,” she said.

She also explained how much trust Marshall gave her while filming the movie. According to the actress, he allowed her to bring her own ideas into scenes and supported her creative choices.

“I remember how he gave me room to shape certain scenes. He would give directions and immediately call for the camera, without much time to think. That actually showed me how much he trusted what I would come up with in that moment,” San Giacomo recalled. She added that Marshall’s kindness and humor left a lasting impression on everyone around him.

“It’s incredible to think about how many people he touched with his humor, generosity, and warmth. At the center of everything was always love,” she said.

While Pretty Woman remains one of her most famous projects, San Giacomo has continued building her career with new roles. She recently appeared in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, a television adaptation of Rufi Thorpe’s popular novel.

In the series, San Giacomo plays the boss of Elle Fanning’s character. The actress praised the experience and the people involved in bringing the story to life.

“I’m a huge fan of everyone in the cast. Director Dearbhla Walsh is incredible and created a wonderful atmosphere during rehearsals and filming, so the entire experience was truly beautiful. I also loved the book,” she said.

San Giacomo also shared her appreciation for the original novel and explained why the story connected with her personally.

“I loved Rufi Thorpe’s book and could relate to many aspects of it, both as a mother and as a person. Rufi has a beautiful way of describing feelings that are difficult to put into words, and that was something I especially admired,” she added.

Decades after becoming famous in Pretty Woman, Laura San Giacomo continues to take on new challenges while showing fans that her career is far from over.
