Preview of DC Pride 2024 #1 Released by DC Comics, Coming in May
DC Comics, a major comic book publisher, is famous for iconic characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and others. Every year, they release numerous titles, but occasionally they drop special issues.
This year, on May 28, 2024, in anticipation of Pride Month in June, they’re releasing a special collection called DC Pride. While the contents are still a mystery, DC Comics has given us a sneak peek. In this report, we’ll uncover the stories featured in this upcoming issue!
According to the publisher, “DC Pride 2024 #1, an annual anthology from DC Comics featuring new stories focusing on LGBTQIA+ characters, will be released on May 28. The 104-page comic will have a main cover by Kevin Wada, a wraparound variant cover by David Talaski, and foil and card stock variants by Babs Tarr. Additionally, Wada’s main cover will be available as a 1:25 card stock variant.” More covers under the DC Pride label will be available for purchase in June!
As for what’s inside, the special edition will include a sneak peek from an upcoming graphic novel called “The Strange Case of Harleen and Harley” by Melissa Marr, Jenn St-Onge, Jeremy Lawson, and Lucas Gattoni. There will also be artwork by Robin “Zombie” Higginbottom, Chloe Brailsford, Ego Rodriguez, Helen Mask, Valentine Smith, and Bailie Rosenlund. Plus, don’t miss an autobiographical story by industry veteran Phil Jimenez, illustrated by Giulio Macaione and Frank Cvetkovic, showcasing the imaginative worlds that influenced him. Additionally, there will be pages dedicated to LGBTQIA+ resources partnered with DC and Warner Bros. Discovery, and more surprises. Check out the image below for all the key details!
