Rare Deleted ‘The Boys’ Season 1 Scene Uncovers Homelander’s Dark Childhood
A deleted scene from The Boys Season 1 has resurfaced through Prime Video, and it gives a much darker look at Homelander’s early life. The scene shows his time as a child inside the Vought International facility, where he was raised as part of a controlled experiment.
The footage, which was originally cut from the show, focuses on how Vought tried to shape Homelander into their perfect superhero. Instead of a normal childhood, he was trained, monitored, and pushed into becoming a symbol of patriotism. The scene shows that even at a young age, he struggled to understand his identity and the truth about his origins.
In the deleted moment, young Homelander speaks with a Vought tutor and questions everything around him. He asks if scientist Jonah Vogelbaum is his father, and when he is told yes, he takes it further. He then asks if his tutor is his mother. When she confirms it, things take a violent turn. The moment ends with tragedy, showing how unstable he already was as a child and how Vought tried to hide these early incidents.
The scene highlights something important about Homelander’s character in The Boys. Even as a child, he was already being shaped in an unhealthy environment where fear, control, and secrecy were normal.
The scene also adds context to how he became the adult version of Homelander, a character known for extreme violence and lack of empathy. It shows that Vought not only created him but also covered up his early actions, which removed consequences from his life. As a child, he still had fear after what he did, but that fear slowly disappeared over time.
In the main storyline of The Boys, Homelander eventually becomes one of the most dangerous figures in the world. The series finale shows him fully embracing his power and identity, leading to a final battle where he is stopped by Billy Butcher. In that ending, he loses his powers and is killed after a violent confrontation inside the White House.

In the final episode titled “Blood and Bone,” Homelander believes he has become something close to a god. He uses a powerful version of Compound V and tries to take full control of the world. But the plan falls apart when Kimiko’s powers are used to strip Supes of their abilities, including his.
Without his powers, Homelander is finally vulnerable. Billy Butcher takes advantage of that moment and attacks him. The fight ends with Homelander being killed in front of the world, bringing a brutal end to his story.
Even after his death, the impact of Homelander continues in the world of The Boys. Vought still exists and controls how the story is told to the public. The future of the universe is expected to continue in spin-off projects like Vought Rising, which may explore more about the world he left behind.
