Prime Video has never let its biggest action franchise sit idle for long, and this summer is no exception. Jack Reacher fans have spent months piecing together clues about what comes next for the towering drifter, and the streamer has finally started delivering answers.

The wait has been building since the show wrapped its third outing, which quickly became one of the platform’s most-watched seasons ever. With a fourth season already locked into the release calendar, anticipation has only grown louder in recent weeks.

That anticipation paid off as Prime Video released the first official look at ‘Reacher’ Season 4, confirming the new season will begin streaming on August 12. The premiere will drop with three episodes at once, followed by new episodes arriving weekly until the finale on September 16.

This season adapts Lee Child’s thirteenth novel in the franchise, ‘Gone Tomorrow,’ which finds Reacher pulled into chaos after a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a New York City subway goes horribly wrong. That moment sets off a much larger conspiracy that puts Reacher up against powerful forces operating at the highest levels.

Alan Ritchson returns once again as the title character, joined by a wave of new additions to the cast including Sydelle Noel, Christopher Rodriguez Marquette, Kevin Weisman, Agnez Mo and Anggun. Maria Sten also returns as Frances Neagley, setting the stage for her long-awaited spinoff series.

Ritchson has been especially vocal about how this season stacks up against everything that came before it. He previously told Collider that Season 4 is “by far the best season we’ve had yet,” a bold claim considering how well the first three seasons have already been received by critics and viewers alike.

That enthusiasm has carried through production and into post production as well. In social media updates, Ritchson has described the new season as gripping and action heavy, even revealing that the team shot far more fight sequences than in any previous year of the show.

The stakes extend well beyond just this one season too. Prime Video renewed ‘Reacher’ for a fifth season before the fourth had even premiered, a vote of confidence that speaks to just how central the franchise has become to the streamer’s action lineup.

Adding even more to the excitement, the Season 4 finale on September 16 will coincide with the launch of ‘Neagley,’ the franchise’s first-ever spinoff series starring Maria Sten. Pairing both releases on the same day signals just how much Prime Video is investing in expanding this world.
