Yost revealed that the current season will dig deeper into the show’s central mystery, promising to explain more about what happened roughly a century and a half before the story’s present-day timeline, including how the entire Silo project first began.

That confirmation gives fans a clearer sense of how much story remains before the series wraps entirely. Season 4 is expected to adapt Dust, the final novel in Howey’s trilogy, bringing the sprawling underground saga to its intended conclusion after five years on screen.

Ferguson herself, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, has previously teased that the show’s remaining episodes will finally reveal its biggest long-standing mysteries. With six episodes still left in the current season before the story shifts into its final chapter, that promise carries real weight heading into the back half of Season 3.
