Reese Witherspoon’s Son Deacon Phillippe Steals the Spotlight at ‘Elle’ Premiere, Fans Say He’s Her Male Twin

Reese Witherspoon turned the premiere of her upcoming series Elle into a special family moment, bringing her son Deacon Phillippe along for the big night. The actress and producer attended the New York City premiere on June 23, where the pair quickly caught fans’ attention with their stylish looks and noticeable resemblance.

Witherspoon, 50, looked stunning in a pink gown featuring lace and floral details, keeping in line with the signature style fans know from her Legally Blonde days. Deacon, 22, also dressed for the occasion, wearing a black suit with a pink tie that matched his mother’s outfit. After photos from the event surfaced online, many fans commented on how much Deacon resembles Reese, with some calling him her “male version.”

The premiere celebrated Elle, the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series that explores the younger years of Witherspoon’s famous character, Elle Woods. Witherspoon is involved with the project as an executive producer, helping bring a new chapter of the beloved franchise to audiences.

Deacon has also started building his own path in entertainment. Following in the footsteps of both his mother and father, actor Ryan Phillippe, he appeared alongside Ryan in the 2025 coming-of-age drama Motorheads, which was released on Prime Video.

Ryan previously opened up about working with his son during an interview with Us Weekly in May 2025. The actor described the experience as something special, saying, “It’s so unique to be in a situation like this where you’re both working on a show with really good people.” He added, “There were times when we would look at each other and just be like, ‘Can you believe that we’re actually doing this?’”

Motorheads co-star Nathalie Kelley also had plenty of praise for Deacon, describing him as a thoughtful and impressive young actor. Speaking to Us Weekly, Kelley said, “[Deacon is] the most charismatic, polite, thoughtful young man I have ever met.” She also added, “If this is what the new generation of men are coming out, looking like, sounding like, acting like, then I feel more at ease about the future of our species.”

Kelley also talked about watching Ryan support his son during his first major acting role. She explained that seeing their father-son relationship on set was meaningful and showed how proud Ryan was of Deacon’s work.

Although Reese and Ryan ended their marriage years ago, the former couple has continued to maintain a strong relationship while raising their children. The pair began dating in 1997 after meeting before working together on Cruel Intentions. They married in 1999, separated in 2006, and finalized their divorce in 2007.

A source previously told Us Weekly that the two remain close friends and have worked together as co-parents over the years. “She is very close to Ryan,” the insider said, adding that they have continued supporting their children’s choices.

The source also noted that both parents encourage Deacon and their daughter Ava, 26, to follow their own dreams in entertainment if they choose to do so.

Elle is set to premiere on Prime Video on July 1 and will introduce viewers to a younger version of Elle Woods before the events of the original Legally Blonde films.
