Rumors: Beyonder Will Be the Main Villain of ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ Offering a Great Opportunity To Recast Kang

MCU has quite a lot of projects to release in 2024, 2025, and beyond. We know that there are several movies being worked on currently and affected by the strikes, but none of them are as anticipated as ‘Avengers 5’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ which are expected to continue MCU’s tradition of majestic crossovers.

Although next to nothing was known about the projects, we do know that Kang the Conqueror was expected to take over from Thanos as the main villain of the Multiverse Saga; however, soon after the release of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ it became clear that the audience did not react to the new villain accordingly. Jonathan Majors, who was playing Kang and all of his variants, also got into some legal troubles, and for more than half a year, his status in the MCU was up in the air; Disney wasn’t so fast to fire him, not wanting to make the same mistake as with Johnny Depp.

However, only a week ago, the legal verdict was reached. Majors was pronounced guilty of third-degree assault and harassment that could end up resulting in some prison time, and almost as soon as the news broke into the media, a Marvel Studios spokesperson went ahead with the statement that Majors was fired. Several rumors are floating around regarding Kang being recast, but there are also plenty of rumors floating around that ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ is no longer being referred to as such and that it is instead referred to as simply ‘Avengers 5.’

Now, MyTimeToShineHello, a sort of reliable leaker and scooper, came out on X with rumors that Beyonder will be the main villain for ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ and that will be the studio’s excuse to recast Kang.

This makes sense, sort of, as Beyonder was always rumored to be featured in ‘Secret Wars,’ and it does make sense to simply write him in a bigger role that Kang previously held. However, as the state of the MCU is currently troubling, it’s really hard to separate fact from fiction nowadays; what does seem to be certain currently is that Kang will be swiftly written out.
