A new Spider-Man animated TV series called ‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’ was announced for Disney+ back November 12, 2021, with Jeff Trammell as the writer and executive producer. At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was revealed that the show would premiere in 2024, alongside news of a sequel series, ‘Spider-Man: Sophomore Year.’ Japanese animation studio Polygon Pictures was announced to produce the series on July 14, 2023, using cutting-edge CG technology. The premiere date was confirmed for November 2, 2024. Additionally, the series underwent a title change from ‘Spider-Man: Freshman Year’ to ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ on December 11, 2023.

Now as the release date looms closer, rumors are circulating around potential runtime and episode count. According to CanWeGetSomeToast, a notable leaker and scooper with a decent track record published exclusive news regarding the first season of the show. According to the scooper ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ should have around 10 episodes each 30 minutes long.

This aligns with the runtime of both ‘What If….?’ Seasons and seems to be pretty standard as far as animated content goes.

‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ is the fourth show to be developed and released under the MCU umbrella, and it will serve as the 12th installment of Phase 5. The show will follow Peter Parker’s life as he prepares for high school orientation, only to encounter events that profoundly alter his journey. The cast includes Hudson Thames as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln, Grace Song as Nico Minoru, Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus, Kari Wahlgren as May Parker, and Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn.
