In the caption accompanying the clip, Reynolds reflected on how far the character has come, crediting fans for helping get Deadpool off the ground so many years ago and expressing gratitude for the unapologetic devotion that continues to surround the character within the wider fan community.
The appearance also arrives at a moment when speculation about Deadpool’s future is already running hot. Just last week, Reynolds teased that a fourth ‘Deadpool’ film is officially in the works, mentioning specific comic book influences he hopes to draw from, including material written by co-creator Fabian Nicieza and longtime collaborator Gerry Duggan.
Reynolds’ Comic Con cameo also reignites longstanding questions about whether Deadpool might eventually cross paths with the Avengers on screen. While the actor has previously downplayed the idea of Deadpool formally joining a team like the Avengers or the X-Men, arguing that isolation is part of what makes the character work, moments like this weekend’s stunt keep fueling fan hope that some kind of crossover could still be on the table.
