The singer, who is 26, is taking a little break from touring as she prepares for a new film project. In November 2025, it was confirmed that Carpenter will produce and star in a live-action musical version of Alice in Wonderland for Universal Pictures.
Lorene Scafaria, the director behind Hustlers, is writing and directing the film. Carpenter personally pitched the project to the studio, calling it a major passion project. This will be her first lead role in a big studio movie.
She has acted before in films like The Hate U Give and The Tall Girl series. The Alice in Wonderland musical is said to be a modern take on Lewis Carroll’s story, but the plot and other cast members haven’t been announced yet.
While fans wait for the movie, Carpenter is promoting her seventh album, Man’s Best Friend, which got her six Grammy nominations. She has also been busy with brand deals, fashion events, and special appearances.
